Terms of use

These terms apply when you use vouchmeter.com and its business tools. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and review guidelines.

Draft

This page is a working draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Placeholders in square brackets will be filled in before launch. Last updated: [Date].

1. Who we are

Vouchmeter is operated by [Company legal name], a company registered in [Country] under number [Company number], with its registered office at [Registered address] ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@vouchmeter.com.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least [16] years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not create accounts for others or impersonate anyone.
  • You can ask us to delete your account at any time from your account settings.

3. Your reviews

When you write a review you confirm that it is based on your own genuine experience, reflects your honest opinion, and follows our review guidelines. You must not be paid, rewarded or otherwise incentivised for it, and you must not have a conflict of interest with the business.

You remain responsible for what you write. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.

4. Licence to us

You keep ownership of your reviews. You give [Company legal name] a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, distribute and adapt them (for example, in score widgets on a business's website), for as long as they are published on Vouchmeter. [Founder to confirm scope and duration with counsel.]

5. Businesses

Business pages are created from publicly available information or by consumers. A business may claim its page by verifying control of its domain. Claiming lets a business reply to reviews, invite customers and use widgets; it does not let a business edit, hide or remove reviews, or change its score. Business tools are subject to these terms and our guidelines for businesses.

6. Moderation

We may hold, remove or restore content, and suspend or close accounts, where we reasonably believe our terms or guidelines have been broken or the law requires it. We record the reason for each moderation decision. If you disagree with a decision, contact us and we will look at it again. [Founder to add notice-and-action and appeals wording required under the EU Digital Services Act.]

7. Liability

Reviews are the opinions of their authors, not of [Company legal name]. We provide Vouchmeter "as is" and do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [Founder to complete with counsel.]

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If changes are significant we will tell you before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction]. Questions: hello@vouchmeter.com.
